SCHOLARSHIP FUND

"Do you go to college for free?"

One of the most common questions Native and Indigenous students are asked is whether they attend college for free. The answer is often very simple...no. There is no universal "free college" for tribal citizens, although they may apply for scholarships, grants, and fellowships within their tribes. Attending college in an urban setting means many tribally-enrolled UNT students do not qualify for their own tribe's scholarships, which are often based on living in a certain tribal jurisdiction.
